At FGS, our site evaluations are completely customizable to fit your needs and that of your facility. We work with golf courses and athletic facilities that have incredibly wide ranges of expectations and budgets. Regardless of where you fall on the spectrum, our site evaluation will start with the following:

ASSESS - We will assess the current state of the facility, including maintenance practices, quality, renovation needs, etc.

BENCHMARK - We will compare the current state of your facility against industry best practices and other facilities of similar expectations and budgets.
CONSTRUCT - We will help build an action plan that aligns with your budget and the objectives of your facility.

Our profissional site evaluations are generally a combination of many of the other. services we provide. Here are just some of the things we can examine during our visits.

Natural Grass Surfaces

Turfgrass species - What are the needs of your turf species and how can you get it to live to its full potential.

Soils - What are the chemical and physical properties of your soils and how is it impacting your playing surfaces.

Irrigation - We can evaluate irrigation water quality and volumetric water content, and conduct irrigation audits to help build an irrigation plan geared towards sustainable irrigation practices.

Light - We use state of the art sensors to determine exactly how much Photosynthetic Active Radiation (PAR) is reaching your turfgrass. This allows us to development a tree management plan or other mitigation options to help ensure turfgrass health.

Drainage - We can evaluate and recommend drainage projects to help make sure your surface is playable when it needs to be.

Data Evaluation - We can examine historical trends of soil tests, fertility applications, weather & climate, clipping volume, etc to see how different variables impact turf performance. We use this data to help you make more-informed management decisions.

Synthetic Surfaces

Surface Hardness - This is one of the biggest issues regarding safety of synthetic surfaces. We use a Clegg Impact Tester and methods in accordance with ASTM F1936-19 - Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Turf Playing Systems as Measured in the Field.

Infill Depth - We evaluate infill depth in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations to recommend grooming or topdressing operations.

Seam Integrity - We evaluate seam lines for potential failure and tears that could result in injury.
